HOW CAN I SUBMIT A FILM?

Our mission is to showcase the creativity and talent of Bay Area filmmakers, with a focus on artful films.

 

If you’re a San Francisco, Bay Area artist and you’ve worked on an ‘artful’ film, we’d love to hear from you!

 

To submit a film, fill out our Film Submission Form.

 

If your film is accepted, we will send you a second form to collect additional information about the film. This metadata will be used to promote your film on our social media platforms and create a better user experience on our website.

IS THERE A SUBMISSION FEE?

​

 

Nope, there is no film submission fee!

 

We don’t include submission fees because we believe in supporting artists regardless of their background.

 

That being said, as you already know, running a website and social media page requires both time and resources.

 

If you find value in what we do and you’d like to help us with our costs of operation, please consider donating to our Venom @BAFM_arthouse.

 

However, please note this will not have an impact on your film submission.

CAN I SUBMIT MORE THAN ONE FILM?

Yes, and please do!

 

There’s no limit to the number of films you can submit.

 

If you’re a San Francisco, Bay Area artist and you’ve worked on an ‘artful’ film, we’d love to hear from you!

 

Just make sure you submit each film individually and you don’t submit the same film more than once.

CAN I SUBMIT A FILM I DIDN’T DIRECT?

​

 

Yes, as long as you worked on the film and you have access to the correct film information.

 

Here are examples of information you will need available:

• Stills from the film

• Full list of film credits

• Film logline (one sentence describing the film)

• What you enjoyed about the process of making the film or what the film means to you

If you would like to recommend a Bay Area filmmaker, submit a Recommendation Form and we’ll reach out to them!

WHY HAVEN’T I RECEIVED AN EMAIL ABOUT MY FILM SUBMISSION?

​

 

After submitting a film, you should automatically receive a confirmation email from us. 

 

If you did not receive that email, make sure you check your spam!

 

If you received the confirmation email, but you haven’t received an email since then, we might still be reviewing your film.

 

We are a small operation carefully reviewing each film submission, so please be patient and do not submit your film more than once.

WHY WASN’T MY FILM ACCEPTED?

 

 

Our mission is to showcase the creativity and talent of Bay Area filmmakers, with a focus on artful films.

 

For that reason, we are specific with the type of films we showcase on our website and social media.

 

If your film was not accepted, it would most likely be for one of the following reasons:

 

—> your film is not considered a San Francisco, Bay Area film

—> your film doesn't fit into our guidelines of what is considered an “artful” or “art house” film

 

Please note that if your film was not accepted, we would still love to accept film from you in the future as long as they follow our guidelines.

 

However, do not submit the same film more than once.

Our mission is to showcase the creativity and talent of Bay Area filmmakers, with a focus on artful films.

 

For that reason, we are very specific with the type of films we showcase on our website and social media.
